This week was pretty good, but at the same time, it was pretty slow. So we were not able to meet with Mary (and yes, she is Lili's friend - the one I baptized in Sun City) because she was in Arizona for the week. Hopefully we can talk to her this week, and hopefully she will be able to make it out to church.

So we have an investigator that is super smart. His name is Leland, and he knows more about any religion than I have every heard of! He thinks that the Catholics are the true church, which is weird, but he says that Mormons are next in line, and that Mormons and Catholics are almost the same church. He has an 1830 Book of Mormon signed by Joseph Smith! It is super cool!!!! I held it and read from it! It was truly amazing. That book is super cool and he also has several other books that are from some family of Joseph Smith's also. He knows more about our religion than most members do, but he still thinks that Catholics are correct. He has a very disturbing background, which I won't tell a whole lot about, but I will say, he was involved in the porn business. It's pretty awkward, and he also spent 30 years in prison for false charges. He came to church though, and he liked it, but he has been many times. I don't know if he will ever change.

We were able to meet with Sarah, Brenda, and Carlos this week, which was really cool. They are reading the Book of Mormon, and they have been praying. They are a super cool family! I love them! I don't remember if I already told you, but they are moving this next weekend. It is super sad, but they aren't moving very far, so I will still get to see them every once in a while.

We were not able to meet with Zahid, but we are gonna go over there tomorrow night and try to teach his family!

That is about all that is going on as far as missionary work goes. Other than that, nothing else has changed

Love and miss you,
Elder Braunstadter

I'm holding an original copy of the Book of Mormon translated by Joseph Smith!

Here is the Book of Mormon and it's original pouch.

This is Joseph Smith's signature in 1830. This was amazing!

I'm actually reading from the original Book of Mormon! What an awesome feeling - the Spirit was so strong!!!

So, transfers happened today and yes, I got one! Kind of weird because I was in the same place for 6 months straight, and now so much has happened in the last 6 weeks! I am still in Perris, but I am in a new apartment. My new companion is Elder Spencer (one of my old companions!), and I am finishing his training!!! I think that this transfer is going to be super fun and we are going to get a ton of work done too! We are still driving the 2016 Corolla, so that's pretty nice. I am very excited about this transfer and I think that we are going to have some baptisms soon!

This week was pretty good. We talked with Zahid, and he is super cool, I can't remember if I already told you about him, so I will tell you again. He goes to a church called Harvest, and they teach a lot of anti Mormon stuff there, so that might be an obstacle in the future. He is really cool though. He has a wife and 3 kids, and we are going to go over this week and teach the whole family. He seems very interested and I hope that he will be able to make it out to church!

We also had a guy come to church this week, and he said that he wants to learn more, so that was super cool! His name is James, and he is black. We don't have an appointment with him yet because he is super busy this week, so we will meet with him next week.

We have a couple of other people that are teaching, but they are not as solid as Zahid and James.

Well, that's about all that is going on in my life right now!

Hope you all have a great week!

Elder Spencer and I! We just got transferred!

This week was pretty lame... We do not really have that much going on in our area right now because Elder Dunn and I don't really know that much about the area since we've only been here for 2 weeks. We did met some really cool people on the streets however. Danny is pretty cool. He said that he wants to come to church and he said that he wants to quit smoking, and he seems really interested. He is super involved in the lessons, but lately we are not able to meet with him. I hope that he will still want to meet with us in the future.

We also met a cool guy named Zahid, and he is a lot like Danny.  I think that it might be a bit more difficult with him because he goes to a church down here that teaches a lot of anti against us. I hope that he has more of a desire to meet with us and learn more about the church.

Elder Dunn and I are getting along really well, but I think that we are going to be split up next transfer, which is next week. I hope that I stay, but I feel like I am going to leave - we'll see!

That is about all that I have to say about me, but hopefully I can have more to talk about next week!

Love you all,

Elder Braunstadter

Me and my compadres!
